OUR STORY

AMP was created in 1982 and named after its founder.

In the 1980s, the Setúbal peninsula went through a profound economic and social crisis that led to the closure of many companies in the district. Among these was IMA - Indústria de Montagem Automóvel (Automobile Assembly Industry), where the founder of AMP worked for almost two decades.

Shortly after the factory closed, Mr. Alberto began his commercial activity with a mix of products related to agriculture and construction materials. With Portugal's accession to the EEC in 1986, the agricultural sector underwent a major transformation with the production standards that were arriving from Brussels, leaving farmers with no conditions to develop their activity. Thus, in the early 1990s, AMP dedicated itself exclusively to the trade of construction materials until the present day.
